Between Notes - Egg Tempera Original Painting

Captured with delicate precision and emotional depth, "Between Notes" is an original egg tempera painting by artist Ben Young, featured in the Dolly Parton tribute exhibition at Second April Studios. Rendered on a 24" × 13.4" archival Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) panel, this striking narrative portrait catches the late country icon in a quiet moment of reflection, stepped back from the microphone against a dramatic, dark stage backdrop. The fine, layered brushwork and subtle luminosity unique to egg tempera bring exceptional life to the soft contours of her expression, feathered hair, and stage attire. Balancing intimate storytelling with dramatic composition, this singular original piece serves as a timeless homage to Dolly Parton's enduring spirit, extraordinary artistry, and unforgettable legacy.
